Biography Suda Kokuta (1906-1990) was a Japanese Western style/self-taught painter born in Saitama Prefecture. Painted in ceaseless vigorous and unique style. Also Influenced by the forerunner of abstract painting artist, Hasegawa Saburo (1906-1957). Drew illustrations for the book ”Kaido-wo-yuku" by a well-known novelist, Shiba Ryotaro(1923-1996). Enchanted with calligraphy and pottery. A member of artist group, Kokuga-kai.
