Biography Kishi Chikudo (1826-1897) was a Japanese painter born in Omi(present Shiga prefecture). Studied under the Kano school of official painter to Hikone Domain. Moved to Kyoto and learned under Kano Eigaku. Later became a pupil of Kishi Renzan in the Kishi school and brought into the Kishi family. Excelled at tiger-figure paintings. Selected as a Teishitsu Gigeiin (Imperial art expert)
