Artist Ogata Kenzan
Title Ink Stone Box with Design of Pine Needles and Flowers
Biography Ogata Kenzan(1663-1743) was a potter and painter born in Kyoto as younger brother of Ogata Korin. Studied ceramics under Nonomura Ninsei and established a kiln at Narutaki, Kyoto. In his later years, moved to Edo and devoted himself into making pottery. Also excelled at paintings.
