Title Man of Virtue and Landscape
Biography In Genryo(1718-1767) was a painter born in Ryukyu(present Okinawa Prefecture). Invited by Sho Kei, the king of Ryukyu at the age of 12, and studied painting under Goshiken(Yamaguchi Soki) at the Ryukyu government. Influenced by Chinese and Japanese-styles paintings and excelled at landscape and bird-and-flower paintings. Traveled to China as a member of envoys and polished his painting skill. His representative works are "Landscape" and "Quails."
