Artist Uragami Gyokudo
Title Seven-stringed Harp (1792)
Biography Uragami Gyokudo(1745-1820) was a literati painter born in Bizen Province. Left the domain, traveled around various places, and eventually settled in Kyoto. Studied Nanga(Chinese-style painting) by himself. Associated with other literati, such as Kimura Kenkado, Tani Buncho, and Okada Beisanjin. Contributed to the promotion of Sencha tea ceremony.
