Biography Kazuki Yasuo(1911-1974) was a Western-style painter born in Yamaguchi. Studied at the Tokyo Arts School and later under Fujishima Takeji. Awarded and became a member of the Association of the National Paintings. Returned to Japan after the internment in Siberia. Famous for the series of the works "Siberia Series" based on his actual experiences in Siberia. Exhibited at the Biennale of São Paulo and the Carnegie International Arts Exhibition.

Sakata Deika, the 13th(1915-2010) was a potter born in Yamaguchi. The eldest son of the Sakata Deika, the 12th. Studied at the Yamaguchi Prefectural Hagi Commercial School. Succeeded the name "Deika, the 13th" of the head master of Fukagawa kiln, Hagiyaki ware in 1950. His eldest son, Keizo died early and named him as Sakata Deishu, the 14th from 2004. Mainly created the elegant Ido tea bowls called as "Deika Ido."
