Biography Kawabata Yanosuke(1893-1981) was a Western-style painter born in Kyoto. Studied under Sawabe Seigoro at Kansai Art Institute and was awarded at the Nikasen Exhibition. After going to France, studied under Charles-François-Prosper Guérin. Exhibited his works at Shunyo-kai. Worked as a professor at Kyoto City Vocational School of the Arts, Kyoto City University of the Arts, and Saga Junior College of the Arts.
