Biography Hine Taizan (1813-1869) was a Japanese Nanga(Chinese-style painting) painter born in Senshu (present southern Osaka). Studied painting under Okada Hanko in Osaka. Later studied under Nukina Kaioku in Kyoto. Also deeply influenced by Tetsuo Somon. One of the most prominent Nanga painters in Kyoto at the end of Edo period.
