Biography Soga Ryojin(1875-1971) was a monk of Jodo Shinshu sect born in Niigata Prefecture. Graduated from Shinshu University(present Otani University). Entered into Joon-ji Temple in Niigata and became son-in-law adapted by the priest, Soga Keinan. Entered into the Kokodo School run by Kiyozawa Manshi. The 17th president of Otani University and given the title of emeritus professor. Contributed to the development of ideological history on the modern Buddhism.
