Title Kannon (at the age of 70)
Biography Wada Gozan(1800-1870) was a monk and painter born in Osaka. Studied under Mori Tetsuzan. Entered the Buddhist priesthood at the age of 42 after the deaths of his mentor and wife. Became a chief priest at the Jinko-in Temple in Kyoto. Created the paintings of Kannon with white clothes and Jizo Bosatsu and provided them to the public.
