Artist Sakaki Hyakusen
Title Arbor under the Tree
Biography Sakaki Hyakusen (1697-1752) was a Japanese Nanga (Chinese-style painting) painter born in Owari Province(present Aichi Prefecture). Known as a founder of Japanese Nanga along with Hattori Nangaku, Gion Nankai, and Yanagisawa Kien. Famous for the judgement of calligraphy and paintings, and haikai poem.

Hine Taizan (1813-1869) was a Japanese Nanga (Chinese-style painting) painter born in Senshu(present southern Osaka). Studied painting under Okada Hanko in Osaka. Later studied under Nukina Kaioku in Kyoto and also deeply influenced by Tetsuo Somon. One of the most prominent Nanga painters in Kyoto at the end of Edo period.

Fujimoto Tesseki(1816-1863) was a loyalist born in Bizen Province(present Okayama Prefecture). Served to the Bizen Okayama Domain but later left the Domain and traveled around the country. Established a private school, Genshi-juku.
