Title Valley and Fisherman
Biography Yamanouchi Gusen(1866-1927) was a Western-style painter born in Edo. Studied under Takahashi Yuichi and Goseda Horyu. Entered into the Asahi Shimbun Company in Osaka and worked on creating illustrations. Founded the Kansai Arts Association with Matsubara Sangoro in 1894 and the Osaka Western Arts Association in 1910. His pupils are Yamamoto Morinosuke, Akamatsu Rinsaku, and Kunieda Kinzo.
