Biography Nichiju-shonin (1549-1623) was a monk of Nichiren-shu sect, born in Wakasa Province(present west part of Fukui Prefecture). Both Nichiken-shonin and Nichion-shonin were his younger brothers. The 12th head priest of Kyoto Honman-ji Temple and the 20th head priest of Minobusan Kuon-ji Temple. Reconstructed Hongyo-ji Temple in 1596. His writings include “Kenmonguanki.” Known as one of the three restorers of Nichiren-shu sect.
