Biography Asami Ryuzo(1904-1987) was a potter born in Kyoto. The second son of Asami Gorosuke, the third head of a family and studied under his grandfather, Gorosuke, the 2nd head of a family. Graduated from the crafts design department of Kyoto City School of Arts. and studied Western arts at Kansai Arts Institute. Created the potteries on the base of pale blue porcelain in Chinese Song dynasty. Received the Person of Artistic Crafts Merit from Kyoto Prefecture, the Person of Cultural Merit from Kyoto city and the Medal with Dark Blue Ribbon.
