Biography Gesshu Soko(1618-1696) was a monk of Soto-shu sect born in Bizen Province(present Okayama Prefecture). Studied under Kegaku at Enno-ji Temple. Became a successor to Hakuho Genteki of Daijo-ji Temple. Became the 26th head priest of Daijo-ji Temple and founded Kozen-in Temple and Zentoku-in Temple.
