Biography Tanomura Chikuden(1777-1835) was a Japanese Nanga(Chinese-style painting) painter born in Toyogo(present Oita Prefecture). Studied painting under Tani Buncho. Associated with Urakami Gyokudo and Rai Sanyo. His pupils include Takahashi Sohei, Hoashi Kyouu, Tanomura Chokunyu, and others.
