Biography Nakamura Hochu(?-1819) was a Japanese painter born in Kyoto. Started with nanga (southern school literati painting) and later devoted himself to the study of Ogata Korin to be Rimpa painter. Excelled at figures and flowers, and also well-versed in Haiku and associated with literali circle including Kimura Kenkado(1436-1802). In 1802, published “Koringafu”(A Book of Pictures by Korin). Lived in Osaka and his pupils include Nishiyama Hoen.
