Biography Nakabayashi Chikuto(1776-1853) was a Japanese Nanga(Chinese-style painting) painter born into docotor's family in Owari (present Aichi prefecure.) Studied under Chinese-style painter, Yamada Kyujo(1747-1793) and antique collector Kamiya Tenyu. Moved to Kyoto with Yamamoto Baiitsu and associated with Rai Sanyo etc. Learn Confucianism and Japanese classical literature and excelled at refined landscape paintings.

Bito Hiroyasu(1762-1829) was a Japanese calligrapher born in Owari Province (present Aichi Prefecture).

Miyamoto Musashi(1584-1645) was a samurai was born in Harima Province (present Hyogo Prefecture).
