Artist Kano Tanyu
Title Pine and Bamboo
Biography Kano Tanyu(1602-1674) was a painter born in Kyoto as the elderst son of Kano Takanobu, grandson of Kano Eitoku. At the age 16, he was appointed as an official painter for Tokugawa Shogunate and moved to Edo(present Tokyo). Produced the wall paintngs in Nijo Castle, Nagoya Castle and Imperial Palace, etc. Established his own school named Kajiyabashi-Kano.

Yoshino Kansai(unknown) was a wealthy merchant born in Osaka. Run the medicine wholesaler in Unagidani in Osaka over the generations. Invited Ito Jakuchu to Osaka as he was the victim of the Great Fire of Tenmei.
