Biography Iwasa Matabe(1578~1650) was a painter born in Settsu. A son of Araki Murashige, master of Arioka Castle in Hyogo Prefecture. Served to Matsudaira Tadamasa, the feudal retainer of Fukui domain, and went to Edo invited by Tokugawa Iemitsu. Studied paintings of Tosa, Kano, Unkoku, and Kaiho schools.

Chunagon Yakamochi(718~785) was a poet and court noble. Representative of poets in Nara period and one of the thirty-six immortal poets.
