Biography Hashimoto Chobei, the 1st (unknown) was a painter born in Tsuruga Province(present Fukui prefecture). Inherited the name for three generations of falcon painters in the early Edo period. Valued highly as "Chobei Falcon" and "Tsuruga Falcon." Depicted the structure of falcon precisely and called as a master of falcon. His famous work is the Six-Fold Screen of Falcon. The Hashimoto Chobei, the 2nd dedicated the falcon painting to Nikko Tosho-gu Shrine under the order by the feudal retainer of Obama Domain, Sakai Tadakatsu.
