Biography Yosa Buson (1716-1783) was a haiku poet born in Settsu province(parts of Osaka and Hyogo Prefectures). Studied the painting under Sakaki Hyakusen and Haiku under Hayano Hajin. His pupils include Goshun, Kito, Gekkyo. Achieved a remarkable success as a Japanese literati painter with Ike Taiga.
