Biography Ito Jakuchu(1716-1800) was a painter born in Kyoto. Along with working for the green grocer of his family business, studied the painting styles of Kano School, Rimpa and Chinese Ming by himself. Excelled at painting chickens particularly and called "the chickens of Jakuchu".
