Artist Tanomura Chikuden
Title Ink Orchids
Biography Tanomura Chikuden(1777-1835) was a Japanese Nanga(Chinese-style painting) painter born in Toyogo(present Oita Prefecture). Studied painting under Tani Buncho. Associated with Urakami Gyokudo and Rai Sanyo. His pupils include Takahashi Sohei, Hoashi Kyouu, Tanomura Chokunyu, and others.

Kusakari Shokoku(1892-1993) was a Japanese Nanga(Chinese-style painting) painter born in Oita. Studied under Sakuma Chikuura and later Tazika Chikuson in Kyoto. Devoted to the management and preservation of Chikuden family house. A core pillar of research on Tanomura Chikuden.
