Biography Aoki Mokubei(1767-1833) was a potter born in Kyoto. Studied pottery under Okuda Ewasen(1753-1811). Associated with Kimura Kenkado, Tanomura Chikuden, Rai Sanyo and Shinozaki Shochiku. Excelled at making tea vessels of akae, sometsuke-utsushi and kochi ware, etc. Known as one of the three masters of Kyoyaki pottery at the end of Edo period with Eiraku Hozen and Ninnami Dohachi.
