Biography Yanagihara Yoshitatsu was a sculptor born in Hyogo Prefecture. Graduated from the sculpture department of Tokyo School of the Arts. Studied under Asakura Fumio. Established the sculpture department of the New Arts Association and taught at the Nihon University as a chief professor of the arts department. His famous works are bronze statues such as doves and naked women. Received the award, the Person of Cultural Merit.
