Biography Tani Buncho(1763-1840) was a Japanese painter born in Edo (present Tokyo). Studied under Kano Bunrei of Kano school and Watanabe Gentai of Chin Nampin school and created his own style of painting. His pupils include Watanabe Kazan, Tachihara Kyosho, Takaku Aigai, and etc.

Minagawa Kosai(1762-1819) was a Confucian scholar born in Kyoto. Son of Minagawa Hien, a prominent Confucianist. Served to Hizen Hirado Domain.
