Artist Yamakawa Tomiko,Tokutomi Roka

Biography Yamakawa Tomiko(1879-1909) was a poet born in Fukui Prefecture. Her family served to Sakai Family, the feudal lord of Obama Domain over the generations. Graduated from Baika girls school in Osaka. Her poem was posted on the magazine "Myojo" by Yosano Tekkan in 1900. Published the book "Koigoromo" together with Yosano Akiko. Died at the age of 29.

Tokutomi Roka(1868-1927) was a Japanese novelist born in Kumamoto Prefecture. Second son of Tokutomi Kazutaka, a Chinese literature scholar. Joined Minyu-sha, a thought association run by his elder brother, Tokutomi Soho. His best works include "Hototogisu" and "Shizen to Jinsei".
