Biography Kuroda Nagamasa (1568-1623) was a Japanese warlord born in Harima (present Southern West part of Hyogo prefecture). His father, Kuroda Kanbei was legendary strategist for Hideyoshi. Sent as a hostage to Nobunaga In 1577 and grew up under Hideyoshi in Nagahama-jo Castle in Ohmi.
Became the first feudal lord of Fukuoka Domain, Chikuzen Province. Made remarkable achievement as East Squad in the Battle of Sekigahara.
