Biography	Akiyama Saneyuki (1868-1918) was a lieutenant of Imperial Japanese Navy born in Ehime Prefecture as the 5th son of Akiyama Hisataka, a samurai of Matsuyama Clan. Studied in the U.S. and resided in the U.K. after graduating from the Naval Academy. Took an active role as staff officer of Combined Fleet at Russo-Japanese War toward the victory. His elder brother was Akiyama Yoshifuru (army General) and notable Japanese poet, Masaoka Shiki was a friend from his hometown.
