Biography Satake Toku(1897-1998) was a Western-style painter born in Osaka. Learned the paintings under Kanokogi Takeshiro at Kansai Bijutsuin and later under Fujishima Takeji in the Kawabata Art School. Awarded the Japan Academy of Art Award upon “Olive and the Sea” exhibited in Nitten, 1967. Member of the Japan Art Academy.
