Biography Jitsunyo-shonin (1458-1525) was a monk of Jodo Shinshu sect, born as the fifth son of the 8th head priest, Renyo-shonin. Due to his elder brother death, became the successor of Hongan-ji temple. Issued 3 sentences of remonstrance to the followers over Hokuriku region and suppressed uprising of Ikko sect followers. Introduced ichimon-ikkashu system positioning the family of the eldest son as clansmen and those of younger sons as that family group.
