Biography Uejima Onitsura(1661-1738) was a Japanese Haiku poet born into the family of Sake brewer in Itami(present southern east part of Hyogo Prefecture). Studied Haiku under Matsue Shigeyori and later Nishiyama Soin. Well-Known for the western Onitsura against the eastern Basho in the field of Haiku.
