Biography Nakamura Tenpu(1876-1968) was a philosopher and entrepreneur born in Tokyo. Served as a covert agent during the Russo-Japanese War. Afterwards suffered from the tuberculosis; in search of truth, he traveled around Europe and America. Studied and practiced yoga in the Nepal Himalayas, and became the first Japanese to receive first-hand instruction on Yoga teachings. The founder of Tempu-kai.
