Artist Ogata Kenzan
Title Swallow over the Wave, with self-inscription
Biography Ogata Kenzan(1663-1743) was a Japanese potter and painter born in Kyoto as younger brother of Ogata Korin. Learned ceramic art under Nonomura Ninsei and established a kiln at Narutaki, Kyoto. In his later years, he moved and work for pottery making in Edo. Also excelled at Japanese paintings.
