Biography Hanabusa Iccho(1652-1724) was a Japanese painter born in Osaka and his father was a doctor of the Kameyama domain in Ise (present Mie Prefecture). Learned under Kano Yasunobu and Matsuo Basho. Exiled to Miyake Island due to painting satirized Tokugawa Tsunayoshi. Later was forgiven to return to Edo and named himself Hanabusa Iccho.
