Biography Ando Chikuryosai(1948-present) is a bamboo craftsman born in Aichi Prefecture. Started his training as a basket master in 1978 and became independent as a basket master of tea ceremony in 1980. Held his first exhibition at Mitsukoshi Department Store in Nagoya in 1981, and many other exhibitions around Japan. Excelled at making baskets in Chinese and Japanese styles. Made Sumitori, a charcoal container and snack container as well.
