Biography Yamamoto Shunkyo (1871-1933) was a Japanese painter born in Shiga. Became a pupil of Nomura Bunkyo of Kyoto Maruyama school when he was twelve. Later studied painting under Mori Kansai. Established "Seinei Kaiga Konshinkai" together with Takeuchi Seiho and Kikuchi Hobun. Taught painting at Kyoto Municipal School of Arts and Crafts and Kyoto Municipal Special School of Painting. One of the major artists of Kyoto art world.
