Biography Tatematsu Yoshitora (1810-1883) was a Japanese painter born in Owari Province. First learned painting under Matsumura Gekkei and Nomura Gyokkei. Later went to Kyoto and studied under Matsumura Keibun of Shijo school. Returned to his hometown and painted "Ujigawa Senjinzu" (the Battle of Ujigawa) as an offering to Atsuta-jingu Shrine. Became the adopted son of Tatematsu Tazaemon. Exhibited at the national industrial exhibition in 1877.
