Biography | Fukurokuju (happiness, wealth and longevity) is one of the Seven Lucky Gods in Japanese mythology. Ito Jakuchu(1716-1800) was a Japanese painter of the mid-Edo period. Born in Kyoto as a son of a grocery store. Studied Kano School style, Rimpa and Chinese Ming style painting by hismelf. Many of his paintings focused on traditionally Japanese painting subjects, particularly chickens and other birds. |
